Walter’s at the Wheatsheaf offers fine dining in the rural setting of Badsey, within the Vale of Evesham in Worcestershire. ‘Walter’s at The Wheatsheaf’ opened its doors in 2017, the alliterative-sounding name has an attractive ring to it, but who was Walter?

As Badsey is situated close to the edge of the Cotswolds, the restaurant is also accessible to villages of Gloucestershire such as Willersey, Broadway and Chipping Campden.

The inspiration for Walter’s at the Wheatsheaf comes from ‘Walter Hall’ a well-loved member of a prominent Badsey family, who made their fortune in the 1800’s. Our friends over at the Badsey Society have been working on a historical article for us, encompassing research from parish council records and census returns on Walter Hall (1893 – 1945).
